Joe Rodon likely to leave Tottenham this summer as abrupt Norwich City exit explained

Joe Rodon is likely to leave Tottenham this summer - either on loan or in a permanent deal.

Our colleagues at football.london report the Wales defender is attracting plenty of interest, including from sides who have recently been promoted.

Graham Potter's Brighton were heavily linked with the former Swansea City centre-back previously, while Fulham and Bournemouth will be looking to significantly strengthen their backlines now they are back in the Premier League.

Rodon has struggled for game-time under new boss Antonio Conte and has made just 10 appearances in total this term. He was named on the bench for Spurs' final game of the season but had to make a hasty exit at half-time due to the virus sweeping the London club's camp.

Spurs will now make a decision over his future - with a loan and a permanent transfer being mulled over.

He joined up with Rob Page's Wales squad a day late to avoid any repercussions from his illness and is now preparing for the crucial World Cup play-off against either Scotland or Ukraine along with his country's four Nations League fixtures.

"Joe is not playing many games with us but despite this he was fit. Joe is a good player but a really really great man," Conte told football.london last month after Wales' last international against Austria. "He had broken two ribs [midway through the season]. He did every training session. He was always available and I know very well the pain you feel when you break a rib. It means you're a great man.

"Joe has to continue in this way, work hard and have this satisfaction. I repeat to play this way with Wales in an important game in World Cup qualification, it means you're working hard and well. I always say this: I have a group of players working well, they're very focused and working to improve the level."
