The Cincinnati Bengals are off to an 0-3 start after their 38-33 Monday night loss to the Washington Commanders.
It has been rough, to say the least, for the team, and they aren’t short of critics after falling very short of expectations early on. One of those may have come from a former running back.
Joe Mixon, whom the Bengals traded to the Houston Texans this offseason, took to Twitter/X on Monday night and simply posted a shocked emoji. With the tweet coming at about 10:45 p.m. Eastern, one can guess that’s a direct thought at his former team. Chase Brown (seven rushes, 62 yards) and Zack Moss (12 rushes, 58 yards, one touchdown) combined for 120 yards on the ground in the loss.
Mixon missed Sunday’s game against the Vikings with an ankle injury. Quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked four times in the 34-7 loss to drop Houston to 2-1 on the year. Mixon has rushed for 184 yards on 39 attempts through two games played with a touchdown. 159 of those yards came in Week 1 against the Colts before suffering the injury in Week 2 against the Bears.
Whether the tweet was directed at the Bengals is up for debate, but one thing is for sure: Mixon’s current team is in a much better spot over three weeks than his former team.
