America's special economic envoy to Northern Ireland Joe Kennedy was impressed by the "ingenuity, creativity, work ethic and potential" in Derry, SDLP leader Colum Eastwood has said.
The Foyle MP was speaking after he took Mr Kennedy on a tour of the city.
Mr Kennedy, a member of one of America's most famous political families and grandson of former US Attorney General Robert F Kennedy, was shown around a number of local businesses and Ebrington Square - once home to the American navy during the Second World War.
