Celtic star Cameron Carter-Vickers couldn't hide his delight after Joe Hart's attempted dig at football in America backfired on the goalkeeper.
The defensive duo were appearing on CBS Golazo as they spoke about the Scottish Premiership title victory and the derby showdown with Rangers on Saturday with host Alexis Guerreros. Centre-back Carter-Vickers has been in and out of the plans for the national team after impressing at the World Cup, but was left out of the last international squad due to the injury that brought his Celtic season to an early end.
The chat took a slight detour when the Guerreros asked Carter-Vickers about the interest in the game Stateside from his teammates and pals across Europe, quizzing: "CCV I have a question. What is the number one question you get from these Europeans about playing in America, what is the No1 question about America and Joe Hart do you have any questions about America?"
Carter-Vickers responded "Obviously we have Alistair Johnston here now so I can direct all of the questions about the MLS to him, he knows a bit more than me. The team is a good group and there is a bit of banter flying about Ted Lasso but in the main it is all good."
Former England number one Hart then took his chance to have a veiled swipe at the state of football in America. He asked: "When do you dominate?
"Because obviously the US has such a strong history in sports, athletes, the size of the country, the way the colleges are set up to establish great athletes. It is time, right?
"Enough money has gone into it, enough energy has gone into it. I see players like Cameron, if he's not starting, then the standard must be high."
The host quickly fired back: "I think we did a pretty good job against England in the World Cup." Hart admitted defeat stating: "Oh Alexis, that was a good chess move."
