Joe Hart isn’t entirely sure how he made his two outstanding and potentially title-clinching saves.
He didn’t cherish them at the time either as he kept his head through the derby mayhem to aim for the finishing line.
And Hart insists Celtic will do exactly the same as they hunt down the flag.
The 35-year-old came up trumps again for Ange Postecoglou with a couple of crucial second-half stops as his team took another big step towards the flag.
Although beaten at his near post by Fashion Sakala as Celtic lost their 1-0 lead, Hart touched another effort from the Zambian over and also made a terrific point-blank stop from Scott Arfield.
The keeper’s saves were lauded by the home fans but asked about them once the dust had settled, he said: “Ah, look, it is mayhem out there.
“I love being in goal and sometimes you do things that you ideally don’t want to do, that you know you are better than.
“And sometimes you do things where your body and your instincts take over. I don’t actually know what happened, I just know it stayed out.”
Hart was aware of their importance, but continued: “Yeah, I do but there is time to go. They were fighting for their lives. It was more important they won than we won.
“I was well aware with, however minutes to go, I felt like we were going to get chances and they were probably going to get more.
“They hit the post after that, so it was a tough game but a great game. A really good game to be involved in.
“Two good teams, two contrasting styles. Obviously we play to win. We are in a good, strong position and we will take the draw and move into next week.”
Hart knows epic title drama. He was the Manchester City keeper when they won England’s major prize with Sergio Aguero’s famous late goal against QPR.
It’s why the shot-stopper’s not taking a six-point lead for granted or thinking it’s done as he said: “You are never going to get me to sit here and say that but we’ve worked very hard to be in this position.
“We’ve come through a lot, we are pleased with where we are and we’ve got a job to do. And that continues.
“We’re pumped. I just see excited guys who can’t wait to get out and play in front of those supporters, can’t wait to get the ball at our feet, can’t wait to dominate possession. So, it has been a big ask but we want more.
“I don’t look too far ahead. Never have, never will. Whatever I’ve got left in this footballing earth, I just live in the moment.
“We keep trying to play, with a lot of belief and great stewardship from the manager and staff keeping everyone calm.
“We didn’t win away from home for the first three games and they were still there right behind us.
“They got us going in the league and were right behind us. So it is down to us to perform.”
Hart felt Celtic had a chance to seal the deal before Sakala’s leveller and said: “I felt like we dominated but they are a hard team to put away.
“They are resilient and they are dangerous on the counter-attack.
“With our aggressive style of play, if we are not two or three goals ahead, people have always got a chance.
“But we stick by those foundations. It has won us more than it has drawn us games. It is what it is and we have another three big ones coming up.
“They are a good team, champions last year. Semi-finalist in a top European competition, we are playing against proper opposition and we worked hard to make those chances.
“I know we didn’t take them but on another day, we could have been more comfortable.”
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt battled in front of Hart and he said: “Both of them have been superb.
“There is no secret that at the start of the season we had a brand new back four, back five.
“There was no bedding-in period in this way of football, you either play it or you don’t.
“I love how everyone has bought into it. Cam and Carl have deserved to play every week but everyone who has had the opportunity has worn the shirt with pride and has applied themselves properly to do what they have been asked to do as a team.
“A good majority of us have played to our level. That is the least you can ask when it comes to a season. The management and the set-up have allowed us to do that.”
Celtic now face Hearts on Saturday looking to get over the line and Hart said: “Exactly. This league is not set up for us to win it. There is opposition out there. Rangers are never going to lie down.”
It’s the reason why Hart won’t think about what it will feel like to get that title medal. He added: “I would love to tell you. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I can.”
