They said: "Joe is back on Monday."
RTE confirmed the news to Dublin Live.
This will be the first time Joe has taken to the airwaves in almost a month.
Although Joe has been missed by many, a number of listeners have been full of praise for Katie, who The Irish Times labelled as "alert and empathetic".
One Twitter user said of Katie: "Katie Hannon is an excellent, fair & nuanced moderator- polar opposite of Joe Duffy #liveline No guffaws, tabloidism or guffaws at his own “jokes”"
Another said: "Is it just me or is #liveline a lot less judgy and shouty when Katie is in for Joe?"
Katie has not shied away from covering heavy topics during her stint as Liveline presenter, delving into the experiences of women who have suffered sexual abuse.
She also spoke with members of the LGBTQ+ community about the importance of hate crime legislation being introduced in the country following a homophobic attack in Dublin city centre.
