Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas was a name to watch entering the season.
So far, he is on his way to becoming a household name, especially once they learn how to pronounce it (yo-SHE-vas). He may have only had two catches Sunday against the Chiefs, but they were two huge catches. He was in the end zone both times. He finished with just seven yards but two touchdowns. That’s still 14 points in fantasy points-per-reception leagues.
What it also shows is that Iosivas is going to be a part of the Bengals going forward, especially in the future. Tee Higgins is a free agent after the season and with Jermaine Burton also getting in the mix, it’s possible Iosivas could essentially become Higgins’ replacement in 2025.
Comments by quarterback Joe Burrow furthered fueled talk that Iosivas is going to be an important part of the Bengals’ future.
“He’s done nothing for me to not trust him,” Burrow said, via the Bengals’ official website. “All he does is make plays in big spots and continue to get better and better, practice really hard, and we love what he’s doing. He’s going to continue to be a big part of what we’re doing here.”
Iosivas only had 25 targets all of 2023 as a rookie third-rounder out of Princeton. He already has ten targets through two games in 2024. He caught 15 passes for 116 yards and four touchdowns last season. He has five catches for 33 yards and two touchdowns after two weeks this season. He’s already building more trust with Burrow and that connection will only get stronger.
