Joe Burrow Bluntly Addresses Bengals’ 0-2 Start After Losses to Browns, Ravens

The Bengals have started the season 0–2 for the second consecutive year, but quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t worried.

Despite last season’s rough start, the Bengals reached the AFC championship game. With the playoffs on Cincinnati’s mind again, Burrow believes his team will shift its focus.

“We’ve done it before,” Burrow said after Sunday’s 27–24 loss to the Ravens. “Obviously, you don’t want to start 0–2. It’s not what we’re planning on, not what you want to do at all. But now, we’re going to bounce back. That’s what we do. It’s all there is to it.

“I’m still confident,” Burrow added. “I feel really confident in all the guys we have in that room.”

Burrow also didn’t make any excuses for the Bengals’ losing their first two games, which happened to be against AFC North opponents.

“We just didn’t play well enough to win either of these games,” Burrow said. “We’ve got to find ways to make those plays down the stretch to win these kinds of games. Every time you play an AFC North team, it’s going to look like that. You’re going to have seven possessions, so you’re going to have to make the most of them.”

The Bengals will aim to win their first game of the 2023 season next Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET when they play host to the Rams in a Super Bowl LVI rematch.
