Tension and disarray set the climate during US president Joe Biden's State of the Union address in Congress on Tuesday, with Republicans heckling him when he accused them of wanting to "sunset Medicare and Social Security".
Though he pledged bipartisanship where possible, Biden underscored the sharp tensions that exist.
“Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans — some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset. I am not saying it’s a majority,” Biden said.
