The starting salary of £28,371 per annum on a 'level one' basis rises to £30,151 per annum for 'level two'. The successful candidate would be based on-site as part of the full-time role.
The job description for the vacancy at the Castle, that's due to reopen on June 26, reads: "The successful candidate will lead an efficient and effective estate, property structures and support service. The Heritage Operations Lead will ensure the maintenance, cleaning, security and presentation of the structures and buildings are maintained to corporate standards.

"The post holder will lead on and work as part of a team to undertake all basic building maintenance, which would include plumbing, glazing, maintenance of roofs."
As per the job listing on the city council website, the ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of cleaning, maintenance and repair work relevant to the role, experience of supervising and leading a team, giving clear work plans and direction, and an eye for detail and quality standards and an ability to ensure others maintain them.

Heritage Support Assistant
A Heritage Support Assistant role is going to be based at local museum heritage sites, namely the Castle, Wollaton Hall and Deer Park or Newstead Abbey. With a starting salary of £21,189 per annum on a 'level one' basis, rising to £21,575 per annum ('level two'), the successful candidate will support the Heritage Operations Team in ensuring the smooth operations of the heritage sites.
The job description adds: "The Maintenance Heritage Support Assistant will actively participate and assist with the operations of the site to deliver exceptional customer service and statutory compliance for the grounds, buildings and structures. In addition, the post holder will provide a cleaning, grounds and building maintenance and practical facilities support to the site.
"The successful candidate will carry out construction work, such as hard and soft landscaping, with a understanding of plans and line drawings. The post holder will maintain a safe environment throughout the site."

Casual Visitor Assistant
Based across the Castle, Newstead Abbey and Wollaton Park, a Casual Visitor Assistant role is also available. With a starting salary of £21,189 per annum (£10.98 per hour, level one) rising to £21,575 per annum (£11.18 per hour, level two), the position is centred on customer service.
The description reads: "The successful candidate will work on a casual basis and provide a warm welcome, actively engage and deliver outstanding customer service to all visitors at our heritage sites. The role will involve maximising visitors' enjoyment of our facilities, optimise opportunities to generate additional income and ensure the site and assets are safe and secure at all times.
"The Visitor Assistant will provide a welcoming, friendly service at all times. The successful candidate will provide a vibrant and interesting museums and galleries service by proactively promoting, delivering and supporting others, which includes costumed/guided tours, talks and activities and special events.
"The post holder will carry out regular activities that keep the site running smoothly, such as opening and locking the site as required, operation of the cash register and handle/reconcile cash, cheques, credit cards."
