The UK Antarctic Heritage Trust is on the hunt for people to run the world's most remote post office in Antarctica. The successful applicants will spend five months maintaining the Port Lockroy base and be responsible for counting penguins.
Usually inundated with hundreds of applications for the jobs, the British charity have appealed for potential candidates to come forward. The site will open to the public for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. The trust, which is based in Cambridge, usually advertises annually for seasonal postmasters at the site. They are responsible for preserving historic buildings and artefacts in Antarctica.
