South Gloucestershire Council is on the look-out for people to join its school crossing patrol teams. The role will provide a valuable service to local children and the community ensuring their safety around schools.
The school crossing patrol workers are given the power under the law to stop traffic, and those failing to comply can be prosecuted. For roughly half an hour every morning and afternoon during school weeks, you can become a school crossing patrol hero.
Full training and uniform is being provided by the council and currently, 11 different schools require someone to work just five hours a week in their local community.
