Job in Kuwait: Kollam based woman alleges fraud by agent

KOLLAM: A Kollam-based woman has alleged that she was cheated by an agent who offered her a job in Kuwait. She said that she was denied food and salary and was tortured physically for not accepting the demand to become a sex worker. She alleged that the Pathanapuram police even refused to accept her complaint.

The woman, Shalini MS (36), told TOI on Saturday that she has now filed a complaint with chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Pathanapuram MLA. She alleged that Pathanapuram police have not yet registered a case in the incident despite her giving a formal complaint. The woman alleged that the police asked her to withdraw the complaint and to go for a settlement.
