Joao Felix true transfer value revealed as PSG plot first offer to beat Arsenal and Chelsea

Goncalo Ramos made all the headlines as Portugal beat Switzerland 6-1 to cruise into the World Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old became the youngest player since Pele to score a World Cup hat-trick and more than justified his position as Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement on the night.

Portugal were at their free-flowing best and it was not only Ramos who was taking the plaudits. Alongside him in a three up front was Joao Felix, once himself a Portuguese whizzkid who is only 23 years old.

Felix showed his quality with some stunning pieces of skill as well as showing a cool and composed head, dropping deep to get attacks moving. Everything was going through him and ending, seemingly, with Ramos scoring.

Felix is likely to have many admirers in the January transfer window. Not least because he is reportedly looking for a route out of Atletico Madrid, with his agent Jorge Mendes looking for a new club for his client.

Felix joined the La Liga giants for a whopping £113million in the summer of 2019 and has a contract until 2026 with Atleti. However, with the forward wanting out, there is likely to be a scrum for his signature in the January transfer window.

Asked about his future after the thumping win over the Swiss, Felix refused to be drawn. He said: "I'm completely focused on the World Cup. My agent doesn't tell me anything about what's going to happen, nor does he want to. I need to be focused on the now to play a great tournament."

But how much will interested parties have to pay to sign him? Paris Saint-Germain are understood to have made the first move, although Mendes has spoken to Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, according to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto.

In the CIES Football Observatory bi-annual valuations in June, Felix was given a £78.3million price tag. His slow start to the season has seen that valuation drop to a maximum of £60.4million according to CIES, although star displays for Portugal will only increase that number again. Atletico are reported to want between €130million and €140million, which would be £112.2million and £120.9 million.
