Large sections of the Chelsea fanbase have vented their frustrations on social media after a 'disgusting' challenge on Joao Felix was overlooked by both the on-field referee and VAR. The 23-year-old was initially linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window but, once the Blues entered the race, he decided to pen a deal with the west Londoners instead.
Chelsea are believed to have paid Atletico Madrid around £9million for Felix's services until the end of the season. And, despite only a handful of appearances, Todd Boehly appears to have got his money's worth as the forward continues to impress.
The Portugal international has featured eight times for Graham Potter's side this season, directly contributing towards one goal. Felix has been a live wire in the side, proving a constant threat to the opposition — and, for some defenders, the only way to stop him is by bringing him down.
