Joan Collins hit by masked cyclist riding pavement with no lights in frightening 'crash'

Dame Joan Collins says she was almost knocked over by a masked cyclist in London, telling fans that the individual crashed into her whilst she was on her way to a restaurant.

The actor, 89 - best known for role as Alexis Carrington Colby in soap opera Dynasty - took to Instagram earlier to share her experience with her followers on the platform.

She posted a photo of herself alongside some pals inside Rules Restaurant. The group included pals such as actor Christopher Biggins, 74, and producer Judy Craymer, 65.

Dame Joan's husband Percy Gibson, 58, also appeared to be among the guests at the gathering. The photo showed the group at a table inside the Covent Garden restaurant.

Alongside the photo of the group, Dame Joan wrote: "Getting out of a black cab on the way to [Rules Restaurant], we discovered [Maiden Lane] was closed to all traffic."

"However, that didn't stop a masked cyclist with no lights and weaving on the pavement from crashing into me, almost knocking me over," she further commented.

The Golden Globe winner continued in the caption of her recent post: "How much longer must we live with closed roads and cyclists who consider themselves above the law?"

She then tagged the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, 52, and asked: "Why don't you do something @mayorofldn @sadiq before this beautiful city of #london is ruined?"

A spokesperson for the Mayor of London told us: "The Mayor is committed to making London as safe as possible for both cyclists and pedestrians."

The spokesperson continued: "Walking and cycling have boomed in the last couple of years and the Mayor has built hundreds of kilometres of new or upgraded cycle routes since the pandemic, and completed work to make some of the capital’s most dangerous and intimidating junctions safer.

"The Mayor encourages everyone using London’s roads to do so safely to help make London the best city in the world to walk and cycle."
