Aston Merrygold has announced he is expecting his third child with wife Sarah Louise.
The JLS star, 35, took to Instagram on Friday to share the joyous news in a heartwarming video that featured their two sons, Grayson, five, and Macaulay, three, finding out they are set to be brothers.
The clip then showed their sons kissing an ultrasound image before cheering about the happy news.
Captioning the sweet announcement, Merrygold wrote: “We have some news”, before later adding in the comments, “Baby M3rrygold 2024”.
While his wife, Sarah Louise, shared the video to her Instagram Story and wrote: “I just can't believe how lucky we are, and Grayson and Macaulay are going to be the best big brothers.”
After sharing their news, the couple, who said ‘I do’ last year, were inundated with well wishes from fans and friends.
Bandmate Marvin Humes penned under his pal Aston’s post: “Love you all! So happy” while his wife and ITV presenter Rochelle Humes wrote: “Crying again”.
Merrygold’s other bandmate JB Gill commented: “The best news EVER. Congratulations to you all! Big love from The Gills”.
“We love you!” added Alesha Dixon, alongside several love heart emojis.
The announcement comes a year after Merrygold ruled out having more kids, despite branding fatherhood “the best job ever”.
He told MailOnline: “[Being a dad is the] best thing ever. Best job ever. It gives me reason to get up.”
However, when asked if he had any plans to expand their brood, Merrygold insisted: “No. I can’t chase three. Two is good for me.”
The performer originally shot to fame when JLS finished second to Alexandra Burke on The X Factor in 2008.
The boyband – whose hits include Beat Again, One Shot and Everybody In Love – announced they were going on hiatus in 2013, but came together for a reunion tour in 2021.
Back in February, they revealed that they were taking to the road again for 15 dates around the UK and Ireland, including two nights at London’s O2 Arena, starting next month.
