Jiri Prochazka submitted Glover Teixeira in the final round at UFC 275 to become the new light-heavyweight champion.
Teixeira wasted no time in taking Procazhka to the ground as the fight got underway. The Brazilian worked for submissions and landed heavy ground and pound from full mount. Prochazka had a better second round and was able to show off his diverse striking on the feet.
A nasty elbow from Teixeira had Prochazka going into the third round as a bloody mess. Prochazka was getting the better of Teixieira on the feet but was also holding his own in the grappling exchanges. The pair continued to go and back forth in the final round, but Prochazka managed to take Teixeira's back with just over 30-seconds left and tap him out with a rear-naked choke.
In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko made the seventh consecutive defence of her women's flyweight title, but was pushed to the test by top contender Taila Santos. The Brazilian surprised many fans as she won the first round by working for submissions on Shevchenko's back.
Santos was one step ahead of Shevchenko in the grappling exchanges and had two rounds under her belt come the championship rounds. A clash of heads left Santos' right eye badly swollen as Shevchenko started to up her output. It was a back and forth final two rounds, but the judges saw it 48-47, 47-48, 49-46 in Shevchenko's favour.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili produced one of the greatest fights in women's MMA history two years ago, but Zhang made sure their rematch didn't reach the scorecards as she knocked out Jedrzejczyk with a spinning backfist.

Jedrzejczyk attempted a one-two that came up short in the second round as Zhang countered with a spinning backfist that faceplanted the Polish fighter. Jedrzejczyk left her gloves in the octagon and announced her retirement after the loss.
Also on the main card, Jake Matthews put on a fantastic striking display by stopping Andre Fialho in the second round. Matthews was competing for the first time in over a year having not fought since his submission loss to Sean Brady at UFC 259.
Jack Della Maddalena picked up his second UFC win by stopping Ramazan Emeev with a body shot in the first-round. Maddalena won his UFC debut by knockout in January after being signed following his win on the Contender Series. Also on the prelims, there were big knockout wins for Silvana Gomez Juarez and Hayisaer Maheshate.
