The motorcade carrying the casket of former President Jimmy Carter has arrived at the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. The solemn occasion marks the beginning of a ceremonial procession to honor the life and legacy of the 39th President of the United States.
During the ceremony at the Navy Memorial, Carter's body will be transferred to a horse-drawn caisson, a traditional military honor reserved for dignitaries and military personnel. The caisson will then lead a funeral procession down Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues towards the US Capitol.
