Tributes have poured in following news of the sudden death of legendary Rangers kitman Jimmy Bell.
The Ibrox club confirmed the news that their long-serving key member of staff for almost 40 years had passed away.
Bell was much-loved by those who worked with as he spanned 11 different managerial eras at the club.
Ex-Rangers boss Steven Gerrard took to his personal Instagram account with a message of condolence.
Former Gers star Ronald de Boer posted a photo with Bell and current boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the dressing room at the recent Rangers Legends game.
He wrote: "With great sadness the news came to me that Jimmy Bell passed away. You will be missed Jimmy. The best kit man in the world.”
De Boer’s former team-mate Maurice Ross said: “A misunderstood man. Had the heart the size of a house.
“Behind the hard exterior was a warm and gentle soul. Love his job and the Rangers. Undoubtedly the most prepared and thorough kit man to have walked the earth.
“Heartbreaking news. Love ya Jimmy.”
Craig Moore wrote on Twitter: "Complete shock and lost for words. Loved the Keizer. Condolences to the family and RIP wee man. You were the absolute legend in that place for me."
Current Manchester United loan man Amad Diallo posted a photo on Twitter of Bell holding up the substitutes board as he came onto the field at Parkhead on Sunday.
He said: "You have been serving the team for over 30 years, thank you for everything."
Ex-striker Marco Negri said on Instagram: "Shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of the best kitman in the world. Legend and true Rangers man. RIP Jimmy."
Emotional talkSPORT host Jim White spoke on his breakfast radio show and said: "I'm very sad to hear this morning, myself.
"Jimmy was a friend of mine, a great fellow to be in his company. Our thoughts go to Jimmy Bell's family this morning.
"Jimmy served Rangers for over 30 years and had been a friend and a confidant to numerous generations of players and staff. As Rangers say this morning, he's going to be sadly missed by everybody at the club.
"A great friend of the players, great character. So many players will mention Jimmy Bell as soon as they talk about their time at Rangers. I'm thinking of people like (Lorenzo) Amoruso.
"I'll tell you who'll be very upset at this news this morning – Paul Gascoigne who was very friendly with Jimmy Bell.'
Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows wrote on Twitter: “I am saddened to hear the news about Jimmy.
“Spent a bit of time blethering with him when he was at Fir Park last week and he was in good form.
“He’s always been very tight with our kitman, who is gutted. My thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this sad time. RIP."
The world's strongest man and ardent Rangers fan Tom Stoltman said: "Mr Rangers Jimmy Bell. An absolute legend of a man. Will be missed by us all."
