Texas A&M is expected to fire head coach Jimbo Fisher Sunday after more than five years and a 45-25 record, according to multiple reports.
The move is unsurprising after his underwhelming tenure with the Aggies, though the timing is a little odd after a 41-point win and two games left on the schedule. But don’t feel bad for Fisher. He’s set to receive one of the biggest buyouts any coach has in college football.
Fisher’s buyout will cost Texas A&M $76 million, which is more than three times the amount any coach has received in a buyout.
Jimbo Fisher's buyout is around $75 million, guaranteed.
The previous record buyout paid to a college coach was $21.45 million by Auburn to Gus Malzahn.
This is another stratosphere.

No one wants to be fired, but if it has to happen, there are certainly worse ways to go out.
