Fresh off a College Football Playoff appearance last year, Michigan enters the new season as the odds-on favorite to win the Big Ten.
The Wolverines return star quarterback J.J. McCarthy, a host of playmakers on offense and a talented veteran defense that should be one of the best units in the country.
This could finally be the year that the Wolverines put it all together and make a run for a national championship, and coach Jim Harbaugh knows it.
When asked about the state of fall camp right now, Harbaugh had one word to describe the competition as the team prepares for the season:
“Vibrant.”
“This is vibrant,” Harbaugh said. “That’s my word. I can’t get that word out of my head. It just best describes the vibe, the mentality. It’s infectious. Can’t help but not pick up on that and that was well-defined. It’s vibrant.”
The No. 2 Wolverines host East Carolina at Michigan Stadium on Sept. 2 to kickoff the new season.
