The 60-year-old who has been in the industry for 40 years after saying he "has enough" and has "done enough".

In an interview with Access Hollywood he said he's 'probably' going to retire, saying: "Well, I am retiring, I am being fairly serious.

"It depends – if the angels bring some sort of script that's written in gold ink, that says to me that it's going to be really important for people to see, I might. I might continue down the road, but I'm taking a break."

Jim added: "I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like – and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough.

"I've done enough. I am enough," he explained.

The Ace Ventura star was one of the Hollywood stars weighing in on the shocking moment Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at The Oscars after the comedian referred to Jada Pinkett Smith as GI Jane.

Jim said that the Oscars "should have arrested" Will over the incident.

He said: “I was sickened by the standing ovation. Hollywood is just spineless en masse and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore.

After Chris' refusal to press charges, Jim said: "I would have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200m because that video is going to be there forever.”

“If you want to yell from the audience and show disapproval or say something on Twitter, you do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face ‘cos they said words.”

“It didn’t escalate, it came out of nowhere because Will has something going on inside him that’s frustrated. I don’t have anything against Will Smith. He’s done great things. But that was not a good moment. It cast a pall over everybody’s shining moment.”

Will took to Instagram after the night and issued a statement: "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive.

"My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong.

"I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
