RANCHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the southern districts of the state during the next 48 hours, beginning Wednesday.
Issuing an impact-based forecast bulletin, the IMD said the downpour might cause localised flooding of roads, water logging in low-lying areas and closure of underpasses. “Occasional reduction of visibility, disruption of traffic in cities, minor damage to ‘kuccha’ roads, damage to horticulture and standing crops in some areas due to inundation is expected,” the special bulletin read.
