Premier League promotion hopefuls Sheffield United have offered a contract to highly-rated Motherwell kid Jevan Beattie.
Beattie, son of former Celtic and Hearts striker Craig, has impressed the Blades while training with them this week and has been offered a scholarship with a two year professional contract to follow. The striker currently runs out for the 'Well U18s and had received an offer of a professional contract with Motherwell as his deal is set to expire.
But Sheffield United, managed by former Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom, look set to win the race and are hopeful he will pen a two-year senior deal as his first professional contract. It would mean the youngster will in all likelihood be a senior Premier League player next season with the Yorkshire side currently four points ahead of Middlesbrough with a game in hand and looking good to finish as runners-up to Burnley.
