Jets pierce Chicago sky to prep for weekend’s Air and Water Show

Half a dozen shiny, bright blue and yellow fighter jets sat in a neat line late Thursday morning at Gary International Airport, looking fast just sitting still.

The planes are F/A-18 Super Hornets, the type used by the U.S. Navy in combat.
