The Jets received bad news on the injury front Monday afternoon.
An update on the status of offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker was revealed by coach Robert Saleh, who told reporters that an MRI showed a torn Achilles tendon for Vera-Tucker. The injury occurred in the Jets’ 31-21 win over the Broncos in Denver on Sunday.
Saleh said the Jets were surprised by the news and expressed there was optimism surrounding Vera-Tucker’s status after he remained in the game for a play following the injury, walked off the field and went to the locker room under his own power.

Vera-Tucker missed all but seven games last season due to a triceps injury after logging 16 games as a starter during his rookie campaign in 2021.
It’s the second such season-ending injury for the Jets, who lost quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles in the season opener.
