Jets check in at No. 24 in way-too-early 2023 rankings

Power rankings for the following season immediately following the Super Bowl is a tradition unlike any other. But it’s always fun to see where teams fall in line before the meat and potatoes of the offseason kicks off in a few weeks.

Touchdown Wire did just that and, as things stand now, the Jets aren’t too highly thought of heading into the offseason, mainly because of the lack of stability at the quarterback position in the immediate snapshot of time.

The Jets check in at No. 24 in these way-too-early power rankings for 2023.

The rest of the team is built to win. The Jets even have a coaching staff in place to do so led by Robert Saleh. The problem is they don’t have a quarterback, and it will continue to hold them back. Landing Aaron Rodgers would solve their problems under center.

As the team stands now, sure, you can understand the thought of them being ranked low since the only quarterbacks they currently have under contract are Zach Wilson and Chris Streveler. That said, you have to like the chances the Jets will come away with one of the top options at the position this offseason — Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, etc. —  and that, plus the returning players that were injured in 2022, should help bump the Jets up these rankings sooner rather than later.
