Jet2 is set for its busiest-ever weekend as almost 150,000 holidaymakers travel to and from destinations across the Mediterranean and Canary Islands. It comes as airports continue to struggle to keep up with demand, with long queues caused by staff shortages.
However, despite recent disruption within the travel industry, Jet2 says it has not cancelled any flights due to a shortage of staff. A fleet of 106 aircraft will be in operation over the weekend, with the airline running more than 800 flights - with over 425 flights tomorrow (July 23) alone - including some from Leeds Bradford Airport.
As families prepare to jet away during the school summer holidays, the airline and tour operator will fly holidaymakers to more than 50 popular destinations from 10 bases across the UK. Majorca, Tenerife and Faro (Algarve) are set to be the most popular locations this weekend, with flights to the Balearics, Canaries, Mainland Spain, Cyprus, Malta, Turkey and Greece also proving popular, WalesOnline reports.
