A new flight route from Glasgow to Greece is now available through Jet2 and Jet2holidays, to give Scots holidaymakers more travel options.
On Wednesday afternoon, the airline saw off its premiere flight with more planned over the coming months from Glasgow Airport to the Greek island of Kos.
Ahead of what is predicted to be a busy summer, Scottish travellers can now fly out to the destination every Wednesday from May 4 to October 26.
According to Jet2, the new course is due to increased demand for Summer 2022 flights and holidays from independent travel agents and customers, reports Glasgow Live.
Featuring bustling party towns, relaxing beachside resorts, and traditional fishing villages, Kos is a popular summer destination amongst travellers.
CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Steve Heapy said: “We are delighted to see our first flight take off to Kos from Glasgow Airport today.
"It is fantastic to be operating to this popular sunshine destination from Glasgow Airport, as we know that this new route will prove popular with customers and independent travel agents in the region.
With 30 sun and city destinations on sale this summer from the base, we are pleased to be offering an unrivalled programme for Summer 22 and giving customers and independent travel agents huge choice when it comes to enjoying a holiday with our award-winning airline and tour operator.”
It follows the news last week that operator easyJet was launching new routes from Scotland to Greece this summer.
