Jet2 has warned its passengers not to fall for Covid scammers who are targeting holidaymakers pre-trip.
The budget airline said that scammers were taking advantage of lingering coronavirus testing rules which require passengers to take a PCR or lateral flow to enter some countries.
The airline has warned passengers that it doesn’t arrange PCR or Fit to Fly documents, and urged passengers not to respond to requests about it.
Some chancers had been contacting travellers urging them to purchase a free fly test, the airline said.

In a tweet, Jet2 warned: “Important reminder. Only contact us using the methods shown on the Contact Us pages on the Jet2 and Jet2holidays websites.
“Do not purchase any form of Jet2.com or Jet2holidays credit notes via social media as they are unlikely to be honoured.
“Always check company telephone numbers and documentation.
“Scammers may pretend to be a legitimate company. We do not call from 0203 numbers.
“You should only book Jet2 flights or Jet2 holidays directly with us or through one of our approved ABTA registered Trade Partners.
“We would never ask you to pay money directly into an individual’s private bank account.”
The holiday company will never ask customers to pay money into a private bank account, it said.
Customers who are worried they are being scammed should contact the airline on its official contact number.
The contact number and online details for Jet2 are on its website and is the only way that customers should contact the airline.
Most countries in Europe have now ditched their Covid requirements following the rollout of vaccines.
Further afield, and in nations where the jab isn't as widespread, requirements to take PCR or lateral flow tests remain in place.
The latest country to ditch the requirements is Japan, which has had very strict entry rules for the past two and a half years.
As reported by NHK, the country has confirmed it is ending the 72-hour pre-arrival Covid-19 test requirement for inbound travellers on Wednesday September 7.
This new measure only applies to travellers who have been full vaccinated with a booster dose.
