A Newcastle flight to Dalaman, in Turkey, had to return to Newcastle Airport on Thursday afternoon after crew reported a 'technical' issue.
Flight trackers show that the Jet2 flight LS561 departed from Newcastle International Airport at 3.55pm. However, after circling the area it returned to the airport at 4.35pm.
Jet2 said that crew reported a "technical indication" and "standard procedure" was followed. The airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely, and passengers will be flown to Dalaman on a replacement aircraft.

A Jet2 spokesperson said: "Flight LS561 from Newcastle to Dalaman followed standard procedure and returned to Newcastle International Airport after the crew reported a technical indication.
The aircraft has landed safely, and customers will be flown to Dalaman on a replacement aircraft."
Earlier this week a Ryanair flight from Newcastle to Spain had to make an unexpected diversion after a passenger became ill on board.
The FR4080 flight to Alicante, which took off from Newcastle Airport shortly after 8pm on Tuesday night, was diverted to London Stansted Airport where the plane landed at around 8.20pm.
A spokesperson for Ryanair said: "This flight from Newcastle to Alicante (30 Aug) diverted to London Stansted after a passenger became ill on board. The crew called ahead to request medical assistance upon arrival, the aircraft landed normally, and the passenger disembarked and was met by medics before being transported to a nearby hospital.
"The aircraft continued to Alicante at 21.35 local. Ryanair apologises to all customers for this short delay."
