Additional flights to popular sunshine destinations in Spain and Portugal will jet off from Newcastle International Airport from March due to increased demand, an airline says.
Jet2 announced it will add additional services to Malaga in southern Spain and Alicante in Spain's Costa Brava region from March and Faro, in Portugal's Algarve, from April.
It means more seats for customers to book to fly away in Spring and over the Easter holidays.

Jet2 says the relaxation of travel restrictions in the UK and Europe led to a surge in demand.
Additional Tuesday and Wednesday flights from Newcastle to Malaga will operate from March 15, with an extra Wednesday flight to Alicante added from March 16.
Jet2 will add another Tuesday flight from Newcastle to Faro from April 5.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are seeing sustained demand right across the board from Newcastle Airport, with customer confidence bouncing back strongly as international travel starts to look like normal again.
"After the uncertainty of the past two years, it is very clear that customers want to book through a trusted package holiday provider rather than take their chances with a company that has let them down. In response to that, we are seeing strong demand and we are responding to that quickly by adding more capacity where necessary, providing customers and independent travel agents with even more choice and flexibility.
"Spring and Easter are looking like extremely popular times to escape, and we anticipate there will be a huge getaway to the sun which is why we are adding more capacity to these fantastic destinations.”
