Jet 2 East Midlands Airport announcement as new destination and more flights added

Jet 2 has announced a "significantly expanded" flight programme from East Midlands Airport next summer - including a brand new destination abroad. The company has announced more flights and more holidays with an additional aircraft coming into operation at the base to support this expansion.

As well as this, holidaymakers can now fly to Santorini for the first time from East Midlands Airport - meaning Jet2 and Jet2 holidays now provides flights to 32 sunny destinations starting from next summer. Strong demand for flights and package holidays means the company are significantly expanding their existing programmes to sunshine favourites such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Mainland Spain, Greece, Portugal, Malta and Turkey – with more frequent flying aiming to give holidaymakers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility.

The programme includes up to 17 weekly flights to the Canary Islands, up to 20 weekly flights to the Balearic Islands, up to 16 weekly flights to eight Greek destinations and up to 13 weekly flights to Turkey during peak times. The expansion means Jet2 are increasing capacity by 13% compared to this summer, with over one million seats now on sale to the sunshine from East Midlands Airport in summer 2021.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We always knew that when international travel returned to normal, customers and independent travel agents would respond by flocking to book our award-winning flights and holidays from East Midlands Airport.

"As such, we are experiencing strong demand across all seasons and with Summer 23 looking so popular, we are in the position to respond with a massively expanded programme. We now have 32 sunshine destinations and over one million seats on sale from East Midlands Airport for Summer 2023, and such an expansion would not be possible without customers choosing to travel with us in huge numbers.

"I would like to sincerely thank our customers and independent travel agent partners across the Midlands for their support, and I can promise them that our unwavering focus will continue to be on delivering the VIP customer service that has made such a swift and significant impact.”
