Jesy Nelson reckons there is 'so much she hasn't been able to speak about' since quitting Little Mix.
The singer, 31, was on This Morning today promoting her new single Bad Thing.
Speaking about her new music, she said: "There's so much stuff that I haven't been able to speak about. When you make music it's almost like a free therapy session. You have to be able to talk to the writers about what you've been through."
Jesy quit Little Mix in 2020 after claiming nine years in the band had 'taken its toll on her mental health'.
Deciding to go solo, she released Boyz before parting ways with her record company.
She's now brought out powerful ballad Bad Thing and told Phillip Schofield she felt positive about her career.
"Im really good, Jesy replied when asked how she was doing, adding: "I'm in a really good place, I feel positive."
After seeing the singer's 'I am good enough' tattoo on her arm, Phil said: "You seem a very different person now. It bothered you being in front of a camera all the time in the band, didn't it."
Jesy agreed, saying: "You don't get time to breathe or really know how you're feeling.
"We were so young, Perrie was 16. We've all grown up, you learn a lot."
Earlier this month the singer admitted she hadn't spoken to her former bandmates since she quit the band.
She told The Sun: "No, we haven’t talked since then. Never say never, but I honestly wish them the best on their solo journeys now, which is so exciting.
"I think that is what is so exciting about all of us. We are all musically different styles. I think we will all go in our own lane."
As Jesy went on to forge her own solo music career, it was reported Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne knew nothing about her decision to leave and only found out through their lawyers.
The feud escalated when the Bad Thing star released the video for her debut single Boyz, where she was accused of blackfishing – a term which refers to people presenting themselves as black or mixed race.
Jesy responded to the claims in a livestream, saying: "I personally want to say that my intention was never, ever to offend people of colour with this video and my song because like I said, growing up as a young girl, this is the music that I listened to."
