Jesy Nelson recites heartfelt poem for ‘superhuman’ twins as they celebrate first birthday

Jesy Nelson has paid tribute to her “tiny superhuman” twins as they celebrate their first birthday.

In January, the singer shared that her daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, had been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1.

On Friday (15 May), the 34-year-old reflected on her journey as a mother with a video montage of herself and the twins.

In a voice-over, Nelson recited the poem “Welcome to Holland” by Emily Perl Kingsley, which describes what it feels like to raise a child with a disability.

“I think this sums up their journey so beautifully,” Nelson wrote, before wishing the girls a happy birthday.
