Jesy Nelson caused a distraction as she appeared on This Morning for the first time since becoming a solo artist. The 31-year-old rose to fame as part of Little Mix alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, but left in 2020 after nine years.
She said in an Instagram post at the time that she was "ready to embark on a new chapter" in her life, and that being in the band had affected her mental health. Jesy has since go on to launch her solo career, releasing her debut solo single Boyz featuring US rapper Nicki Minaj in October 2021.
After a brief break, the singer is back with her brand new single, Bad Thing, which sees the video depicts scenes from an abusive relationship and was inspired by Jesy's work with the charity Women’s Aid. It also marks Jesy's venture as an independent artist after leaving her record label.

Appearing on Wednesday’s This Morning (April 19), Jesy told hosts Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, who is currently stepping in for Holly Willoughby, that she didn’t 'enjoy' being in front of the 'camera' after Phillip suggested she appeared to be a different person to other times they have met over the years.
"I think it’s just a constant rollercoaster, when you’re in a band, you don’t get time to ever breathe," she said. "So yeah I was up and down all the time. You don’t get to have a minute to really know how you’re truly feeling. You just have to keep going." She added: "We were so young, Perri was 16! Now we’re all women, we’ve all grown-up, you learn a lot."
Despite not being ready yet or having a release date, she said of her new album: "It's raw and honest. There is so much stuff I haven't been able to speak about [before]. You have to speak to the writers about your experiences to be able to make music." She added: "I am being able to speak my truth on songs. I want to make music that makes a difference so this is really important for me."
But as she sat on the famous This Morning sofa and chatted to Rochelle, 35, and Phillip, 61, viewers couldn't help but be distracted by Jesy's outfit. The popstar looked gorgeous with her dark locks styled into waves as they cascaded down past her shoulders.
She sported an oversized white T-shirt which she paired with grey wide-leg trousers that boasted white and black strips down the sides and a pair of trainers.
However, it was the addition of long black leather gloves that caught fans by surprise. @I_knew_Bob asked: "What's with the gloves, is it cold in the studio? #thismorning." @Lockiebaws tweeted: "What are those gloves all about Jesy #thismorning." @Boppity_Boo34 noted: "She’s got gloves on Rochelle’s got a summer frock on #ThisMorning."
@GerryNeillJnr quipped: "Was Jesy Nelson assisting a cow in labour before she came on? Nice gloves #ThisMorning." @Itt39354118 wrote: "April and she's wearing gloves #thismorning." @MissLionHeart added: "What's with the black leather gloves? #ThisMorning."
Fans meanwhile were loving the interview. @63Mason said: "It was lovely watching Jesy on @thismorning. I’m so proud of her and I’m glad she’s staying strong through all this #ThisMorning #JesyNelson." @baddieandbarbie added: "Awww that was such a lovely interview #thismorning."
