Dozens of faithful Christians have been flocking to a tree in Poland after a likeness of Jesus Christ appeared on the bark.
The pattern - which looks like a head with a halo around it - first appeared on the tree trunk in Parczew, Lublin Voivodeship, on May 14, according to local media.
Some believe that it is an image of the Son of God, while others have interpreted it as the Virgin Mary.
Since word of the "miracle" spread, dozens of people have been gathering in front of the tree, which is located in front of an apartment building on Spoldzielcza Street.
Some have brought Bibles along with them, while others have recited prayers while facing the tree, according to reports.
A local woman named Anna said: "I believe that this is a revelation. I heard about it from friends and left my house. It is a sign of divine providence."
People are understood to have begun gathering in front of the tree on Wednesday (May 17).
Not everyone was convinced about the "miracle in Parczew", however.
Among the sceptics is the spokesperson for the Diocese of Siedlce, who said that the image reminded him more of Austrian singer, drag queen, and Eurovision Song Contest 2014 winner Conchita Wurst.
Father Jacek Swiatek told local media: "If we trace the history of apparitions from the 40th year after Christ until the present moment, we have never had any apparitions on trees, windows, or walls."
The clergyman added that the "apparition will disappear with the next rain".
Approximately 92% of the population of Poland self-identify as Roman Catholics.
