One of Jessie J’s current European tour dates got off to an overly dramatic start last week when a drum kit got entangled in her stage curtain.
The 34-year-old singer – real name Jessica Cornish – has been performing to fans on the continent over the past couple of weeks.
However, her big entrance during an appearance in Stuttgart, Germany, was almost completely ruined by a technical disaster.
Jessie was hidden behind a curtain while her band started singing, driving her fans wild, but the curtain got caught on her drummer, Adam ‘Smiley’ Wade’s music equipment, ruining her entrance.
Adam explained to The Sun on Sunday: “At the start of the show the curtain comes up, but the wind blew it into my kit, so as the curtain is going up my kit is going up in the air. I was playing the drums and pointing, trying to get someone’s attention, and Jess was trying to help me.
“And that was the start – not exactly the way we wanted to begin. But she laughed it off.”
And proving there were no hard feelings, Adam added: “Jess is just amazing and this has been the best tour experience. The other night when we came off stage, she cooked for all of us – the band, the crew – a bolognaise for dinner."

Adam even captured the dramatic moment on video – sharing a clip from the incident online.
Uploading the evidence to Instagram, he wrote: “Not my drums being taken to space because the reveal got caught on the rack by the wind!!”
And he added: “regardless the show must go on.”
Footage showed Adam furiously drumming away while a large curtain flapped around beside him.
The material of the curtain beams bunched up as part of it got caught on his instruments, with the music at risk of being brought to silence by the moment.
However, a crew member is seen rushing to the aid and unhooking the material from the drum kit, finally allowing the curtain to be moved away.
Further footage showed how the incident disrupted Jessie’s arrival as she was standing behind the curtain while it raised.
When it became caught, she is shown ducking out from behind the material to take to the spotlight.

And when she notices that the curtain has got caught, she can be seen trying to free the material herself while Adam thrashes his kit and the crew member rushes to assist.
A caption on Adam’s video added: “This might be the funniest entrance ever. Peep he drums doing a Mary Poppins and @adamsmileywade continue playing.”
