Jessie J has opened up about experiening feelings of overwhemling grief, nine months after suffering a miscarriage.
In an emotional post shared to Instagram, the Price Tag singer, 34, told how she had planned as a teenager to become a mother by the age of 30 and now struggles with the reality that she is still not.
Sharing a picture of her when she was 16 alongside a more recent shot, she wrote: “When I was 16 years old I wrote a list of things I wanted by the time I was 30. 1st thing on the list was to be a Mum.
“Now I’m nearly 35 and some days the grief of losing a baby and it not being easy to have one, and wanting my life in that way to look completely different to what it looks like right now just overwhelms me.”
The Essex-born star said that she had decided to bare her soul like this because she knew she wasn’t the only who felt the way that she does and felt it was important to speak about it.
“I know it’s healthy and normal to have days of complete sadness and to honour all the feelings that come up, good and bad,” she continued.
“The bad isn’t often at all and yes I could go through this moment right now today alone in private and usually do, but today I am here.
“Because I know thousands of people around the [world] feel just like I do. Maybe you read this and feel the love I have for you. I hope you can. Connecting is key,” she concluded her post.
Jessie J - real name Jessica Cornish - announced she had suffered a miscarriage in November 2021 ahead of performing a gig in Los Angeles.
The news came just one month after she split from boyfriend of seven-months Max Pham, with the former The Voice UK judge deciding to turn to a sperm donor to help her achieve her dream of motherhood.
