Jessica Chastain has won praised from fans after being noticeably the only famous face to don a protective mask indoors at the Oscars on Sunday night.
Chastain, who is best known for her roles in The Help, The Tree of Life and Zero Dark Thirty, was seen among the A-list crowd wearing a face covering as host Jimmy Kimmel was interacting with the star-studded audience.
She seemed surprised as Kimmel approached her during his comedic segment and removed her black mask to talk to him.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host questioned Chastain on what it was like working with co-star Matt Damon in their 2015 film The Martian.
It was in reference to a longstanding fake feud between the actor and Kimmel.
He jokingly asked: "Was it difficult filming your movie, The Martian, because your costar, Matt Damon, can't read and smells like dog medicine?"
Jessica laughed before answering: "I didn't really have a lot of scenes with him, so it was fine."
But it was Chastain who scooped up the attention as fans quickly praised the actress for her accessory choice, clearly remaining conscious of Covid-19.
One fan posted on social media: " Jessica Chastain - one of the most intelligent celebrities at the Oscars tonight. Thank you for wearing a mask."
Another added: "Props to Jessica Chastain for wearing a mask at The Oscars."
Someone else commented: "I really appreciate Jessica Chastain wearing a mask at the Oscars tonight.
"I'm presuming it's because she is currently in a Broadway show -- that consideration to the "A Doll's House" show, its performers/crew, and its audiences is appreciated."
The actress was also seen wearing a mask at the recent Golden Globes awards.
At the Oscars, Chastain wore a plunging silver rhinestone dress with black velvet trim and matching train.
The 2023 Academy Awards returned once again on Sunday night to celebrate the very best talent in film, design and sound.
Everything Everywhere All at Once were the big winners this year.
