Actress Jessica Biel is set to star in a limited series adaptation of the Karin Slaughter novel 'The Good Daughter' at Peacock. Biel will also executive produce the series under her Iron Ocean banner, with Slaughter adapting her book for the screen in her television writing debut. Bruna Papandrea will also executive produce via Made Up Stories.
The series follows sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, who have spent nearly three decades trying to mend their fractured lives after a night of violence. When another attack rocks their small town of Pikeville, Charlotte, now a lawyer, must confront her past as shocking revelations unfold.
Slaughter will write all episodes and serve as an executive producer alongside Biel. Michelle Purple of Iron Ocean and Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver of Made Up Stories will also executive produce. Fifth Season will be the studio behind the production.
This marks the second adaptation of Slaughter's work by Made Up Stories, following the series version of 'Pieces of Her' on Netflix. Slaughter's Will Trent novel series has also inspired the hit ABC show 'Will Trent.'
Biel, known for her roles in 'The Sinner' and 'Limetown,' most recently starred in and executive produced the Hulu series 'Candy.' She has also produced shows like 'Cruel Summer' for Freeform. Biel's extensive acting credits include '7th Heaven,' 'Blade: Trinity,' 'The A-Team,' 'The Illusionist,' and 'Hitchcock.'
Represented by UTA, LBI Entertainment, The Lede Company, and Yorn Levine Barnes, Biel continues to make her mark in the entertainment industry with diverse projects across television and film.
