Jesse Marsch has been sacked as Leed's manager after a year in charge.
The American was relieved of his duties today following a poor run of results which has left the Yorkshire club just above the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference. The news came after Leeds were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest yesterday.
Marsch was appointed Leeds manager in February 2022 and helped keep the club in the Premier League owing to a 2-1 victory at Brentford on the final day of last season. Leeds fans were hoping for a drastic turnaround in fortunes this season but after a positive start, which saw two wins and two draws from their first five league matches, they've only won two since. That last victory came against Bournemouth before the World Cup break.

A club statement read, "Leeds United can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties. Jesse joined the club in February 2022 and was instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League on the final day of last season. We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future. The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will continue to keep supporters up to date throughout the coming days.

It has also been confirmed that three members of Marsch's backroom staff will leave the club. The hunt for a successor is now on and various named have been mentioned including the man Marsch replaced, Marcelo Bielsa. He is however thought to be unlikely to return.
