Jesse Marsch reveals Leeds United anger amid 'never in my career' claim

Jesse Marsch has admitted he is both 'angry' and 'tired' at Leeds United's failure to capitalise on key moments in matches during recent weeks. The Whites have not won any of their last eight games in the Premier League, with four of their six defeats in that period coming by just a single goal.

While Leeds were not anywhere near their best in either of the last two losses against Leicester City and Fulham, they were left frustrated by matches against both Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Marsch's side took the lead at Selhurst Park before squandering a huge opportunity at 1-0 up to double their lead, before going onto lose the match.

Meanwhile, against Arsenal, Leeds also missed a hatful of chances to earn at least a point, including Patrick Bamford from the penalty spot. Speaking in his pre-Liverpool press conference, Marsch claimed he is growing increasingly frustrated at not taking advantage of their dominant periods in games, as well as their frequent concession of soft goals.

He said: "It's a little different, I am actually kind of angry right now. I am tired of playing matches where we are in the match and in many cases better than the opponent and walking away with nothing. I am tired of not capitalising on moments when we are the better team in matches, I am tired of giving away goals too cheaply and I am tired of not getting results we should be getting.

"14 years as a player and 13 years as a coach, I have never lost this much in my career and I am sick of it. I am trying to figure out which guys can be counted on at the highest level right now, what kind of decisions need to be made from a tactical perspective in terms of match plans and I need to help the group find their confidence and find which guys are ready to fight for everything right now so that in these next matches we can do everything we can to get the points we need."
