Jesse Marsch jets out to South America during World Cup break

Jesse Marsch has taken a well deserved break from his duties at Leeds United by jetting out to Peru during the World Cup break.

The American has decided to take a breather after a chaotic few months at Elland Road and took in the idyllic views of Machu Picchu during his trip to South America.

Marsch wrote to his 71.9m followers on Twitter: "Amazing to be here in Peru with almost all the family (miss you, Maddux) and see the intricacies of Machu Picchu and get a sense of the history and culture.

"Truly one of the Wonders of the World and it feels great to have ticked it off my bucket list."

After securing Leeds' Premier League status on the final day of last season, the Whites have experienced a difficult start to the 2022/23 season. Leeds collected seven points from their opening three games, which included a memorable 3-0 victory over Chelsea.

However, the Whites then embarked on an eight-match winless run, which was ended by a famous 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield last month. They consolidated their win over the Reds by coming from two goals behind to beat Bournemouth 4-3, but signed off for the World Cup with a 4-3 defeat at Tottenham.

Marsch will still be keeping himself busy during his so-called break by working as a columnist for The Athletic for the World Cup. Leeds will then prepare for the return of the Premier League with a warm-up friendly against Real Sociedad at Elland Road on December 16.
