Leeds United look to have finally turned a corner this season when it comes to facing off against the Premier League's 'Big Six'. This term, the Whites have beaten Chelsea 3-0, Liverpool 2-1 and lost to Arsenal 1-0.
And recent work conducted by football statisticians TheOther14 show that Jesse Marsch and co have the best record against the 'Big Six' based on points per game this season.
While Brighton have picked up more points against the 'Big Six' this season with seven, Leeds have picked up six points from just three games against them.

Clearly, this shows a vast improvement from Leeds under Jesse Marsch when compared to their record over the last two seasons. While they have only played three games against the 'Big Six' this term, their results average out at two points per game.
Last season, the Whites lost all 12 of their games against the Premier League's best. They scored just eight goals and conceded a whopping 53. Considering Leeds conceded 79 goals overall last term, the 53 goals against just emphasises how woeful they were against the 'Big Six' last term. The biggest of those 12 defeats came to Manchester City, who thumped Leeds, then managed by Marcelo Bielsa, 7-0. They also lost 6-0 to Liverpool that season in embarrassing fashion.
And the season before that, they averaged 0.92 points per game. They won two, drew five and lost five during the 2020/21 which was overseen by Marcelo Bielsa. And while they also conceded far fewer goals that season in comparison to the one that followed, Leeds also suffered a 6-2 defeat to Manchester United.
However, with their results this term, it looks as though Leeds may have finally turned the corner against the 'Big Six'. The win over Chelsea was as complete a performance as the Whites have shown under Jesse Marsch, while the recent win over Liverpool was a real display of dogged determination.
Against Arsenal, they gave the Gunners as tough a test as they have faced this season. Had Patrick Bamford not missed a penalty for Leeds against Arsenal, Marsch and co could have walked away from the game with a point.
They look to have upped their game when they take on the Premier League's elite, and have so far shown they are more than up for the fight when they face off against them.
