Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has been awarded the Utilita Performance of the Week for last weekend's 2-1 victory at Liverpool. The award was voted for by his peers at the League Manager's Association (LMA), who recognised the remarkable achievement of winning at Anfield.
Leeds became the first side in the Premier League to come away with three points from an away match at Liverpool in over 18 months when Scott Parker's Fulham ran out 1-0 winners. Even more impressively, Liverpool had not lost a league game at Anfield for five and a half years while fans have been in attendance before the Whites' historic win.
This award marks a significant change in the mood around Elland Road in the last week or so, with Marsch having been under severe pressure before the Liverpool win. Sections of the Leeds fanbase had been calling for his dismissal after a run of eight matches without a win in the league.

Crysencio Summerville was the hero on the night for Leeds as he netted an 89th minute winner after Mo Salah had cancelled out Rodrigo Moreno's early opener. Illan Meslier also made a season high of nine saves during the 90 minutes, in what was arguably the best performance of his Leeds career to date.
Marsch will now be hoping his side can use the momentum of that victory when his side host Bournemouth on Saturday in their penultimate game before the World Cup break. Three points against the Cherries would represent the first time Leeds have picked up back-to-back wins all season.
