Nottingham Forest begin to see ‘real’ Jesse Lingard after heartfelt celebrations
Jesse Lingard is determined to rediscover his best form at Nottingham Forest after overcoming his battle with depression.
The 29-year-old has spoken openly about his problems with mental health for a spell during his time at Manchester United, leading up to the first coronavirus lockdown in March 2020. His mother had been hospitalised with clinical depression and the Forest midfielder took over the responsibility of caring for two of his younger siblings but began to experience his own mental health issues.
Lingard admitted that he considered taking a break from football as he found himself on “autopilot”. However, his former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the club doctor at Man United helped the England international get the help he needed and Lingard was delighted to see his mother enjoying Forest’s win over Crystal Palace, having also made a recovery.
Serie A club respond to Nottingham Forest interest by opening 'talks'
Torino have reportedly 'opened talks' with manager Ivan Juric over a contract extension after he was linked with the Nottingham Forest job.
The Croatian tactician is highly rated in Italy with a number of clubs said to be interested in him after he led Torino to a 10th place finish in Serie A last season. Reports in Italy earlier this month claimed that Forest were one of the clubs showing an interest.
Tuttosport reported that the Reds are ‘considering’ the manager for next season, despite current head coach Steve Cooper signing a new contract in October. The Welshman put pen to paper on a new three-year deal, ending speculation over his future after a disappointing start to life back in the Premier League.
'Crazy' - Jesse Lingard comments on Cristiano Ronaldo controversy and stinging Man Utd criticism
