Jesse Lingard has told his new employers that he "can't wait to get going" after completing a move to Nottingham Forest.
The England international has joined the Reds on a free transfer after leaving boyhood club Manchester United at the end of his contract. The 29-year-old has become Forest's 11th signing of the summer following promotion back to the Premier League.
Lingard had been linked with West Ham – where he spent half a season on loan in 2021, and Everton, but has opted for Forest, where he is said to have signed an initial one-year deal. He made 22 appearances for Man United last season but only four of those were starts, so will be hoping for more game time under head coach Steve Cooper.

And he also responded to a Twitter post from Miltiadis Marinakis. The son of Forest owner Evangelos tweeted a photograph of him and Lingard along with the words: "Welcome @JesseLingard @NFFC #NFFC #BELIEVE".
Lingard replied with the message: "Can’t wait to get going" - accompanied by by emojis of a tree, a red circle and a fisted hand.
