Manchester United have officially confirmed that Jesse Lingard will leave the club this summer upon the expiration of his contract. Reports have been rife over recent months over an exit from Old Trafford and the Red Devils have finally confirmed his departure after over 20 years in the club’s academy and first team.
Newcastle United are among several sides both in the Premier League and Europe who are reportedly interested in signing Lingard this summer. West Ham United, where he spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan, are also thought to be interested.
The Magpies were keen on bringing him in on loan in the January transfer window, however Man United’s extortionate asking price meant the two clubs were unable to agree a deal.
